Mackie Cricket Club is pleased to announce further leadership appointments for the upcoming season.

We have previously announced James Cook as the 1st XI Captain and Stef Middleton to lead the women’s team.

Club president John Tantram stated, “These appointments set the club up for a great season ahead. We are excited to have these quality people demonstrate both their on field & off field leadership across the coming summer”

Men’s 2nd XI

Adding to his role as chairman of selectors, club legend Craig Park will lead the 2’s in the Pullen Shield. His knowledge and experience will be invaluable for preparing players to be ready for the next step to play in the 1sts when the opportunity presents.

Women’s 2nd XI

It is with great excitement that we can confirm that the Mackie Women’s program takes the exciting next step in fielding a 2nd XI for the upcoming season. This additional side provides an opportunity for Michelle Curtis to take the lead and more importantly, for more women to enjoy playing cricket! Men’s 3rd XI

After a triumphant previous season leading our 4th XI to a premiership, we are happy to report that Yogesh Kumar will return. This season will see him take on the challenge of a higher grade and chase another premiership!

Men’s 4th XI

Leading the way for another season is Dave Douglas. Dave will lead a side that will play a vital role in providing advancement in senior cricket for our ever expanding junior program. His inclusive and encouraging leadership plays an important part of our junior development pathway.

Men’s 5th XI

The winning skipper from last season’s O Grade premiership, Steve Manual is ready to go again! A seasoned campaigner who welcomes all comers and provides a great environment to encourage young players having their first taste of senior cricket.

Sunday Turf Team

Stepping up to his first taste of captaincy in senior cricket is Baden Park. This side is an opportunity for those that 1 game a weekend is not enough, along with providing a chance for some players to experience turf cricket for the first time. Baden will be ably supported by some old heads who will get around this team to support them.

There is just 3 weeks to go until round 1 for the Shield grades (1’s & 2’s) on Saturday 1st October. Other grades and competitions will commence in the week or two after that.

We are planning a social event to celebrate the opening round for the shield grades and a season launch for remainder of club. A family friendly event to get the season underway!
