Have you ever wanted to play women’s cricket? If you are a beach cricket batting star or bowl up a storm in the backyard….come and have a try at playing cricket. Mackie Cricket club recommenced a senior women’s program in season 2020/21 after a nearly 30 year gap. Review our honour board to revisit the history of female cricketers here at Mackie.
What started as a handful of “Mackie Mum’s” developed into a group of 10 ladies and a keen 14yo. As a result they came together on each Sunday over summer (there is a break over Christmas & New Year) to enjoy each others company and play some cricket. In addition, there was also some great individual development of skills and confidence throughout the season. The season culminated in the team playing finals and claiming the premiership in their maiden year. You can read more about the season here.
Season 2021/22 saw the appointment of a Vice President – Female Cricket to the club committee. After that, our goal is to continue to develop the opportunities for girls and women to play cricket. Mackie Cricket club is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment where cricketers of all ages and abilities can come together and participate at a level they are comfortable with. In addition, the ability for Mothers & Daughters to play cricket together is also a great aspect to the competition we participate in.

Mackie Cricket Club senior women’s teams play in the Cricket Southern Bayside Women’s Association. All players must abide by the Players Code of Conduct.
