Juniors

Mackie Cricket Club junior teams play in the South East Cricket Association (SECA), Inner South East Cricket (ISEC), and All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC). The different competitions cater for lot’s of different age groups and skill levels. We cater for beginners with the very popular Woolworths Cricket Blast programs.

One of the key outcomes we strive for at Mackie is for every junior cricket player to have fun!

The season commences in October and finishes in March.  Playing dates and rules will be confirmed closer to the season start. The details for each season are normally available late August / early September. Teams and age groups will be announced as numbers are confirmed for each age group. Don’t miss out on a spot in a team, make contact ASAP!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the age groups?

Under 12’s – players must be under the age of 12 by the 1st of September for the coming season. This includes Under 12 modified.

Under 14’s – players must be under the age of 14 by the 1st of September for the coming season.

Under 16’s – players must be under the age of 16 by the 1st of September for the coming season.

Under 17’s – players must be under the age of 17 by the 1st of September for the coming season.

What if it's my first time playing cricket?

We offer an Under 12 modified team (Rookies) which is perfect for 10-11 year olds just starting out in cricket.  We also offer Woolworths Cricket Blast program – ideal for 5 – 10 year olds.

Are these age groups just for boys?

The majority of our junior teams are able to be mixed. There is also a dedicated girl’s only competition the All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC). See our dedicated page about playing girls cricket here.

What if I have just come out of the Woolworths Cricket Blast program?

Our very popular ‘Rookies’  format is suited to kids that have had one or two seasons of Woolworths Cricket Blast and can hit a moving ball and bowl a short distance with a straight arm.
