A slight hiccup to plans with our Women & Girls cricket Come ‘n’ Try day not able to run this weekend. We are still hopeful of being able to provide an opportunity before our season starts to welcome you to come and have some cricketing fun.
The focus of Women & Girls cricket at Mackie is all about having fun. We are family friendly and ready to help you play cricket if that is what you want to do! Our first Women’s team in over 25 years formed last year. We had a great bunch of ladies who were mainly Mum’s of club juniors. The team had a mix of skills and experiences and a keen junior thrown in also. A lot of fun was had and also a great result with a premiership in their first year!
This season in 2021/22 we are looking to expand on the program. We are wanting to field:
- 2 x Senior women’s teams
- 1 x 16 & Under Girls team
- 1 x 13 & Under Girls team
While we don’t have all the details yet on when the season may start we are still keen to hear from you. Let us know if you are wanting to join in this season so we can continue our planning. We will all be ready to get out and run around once lockdown conditions ease…there is no better way than playing cricket!
