The Mackie Cricket Club is delighted to announce that we have re-signed our current captain / coach Sam Frawley for the next two seasons and he will extend his stay at Mackie to at least the end of the 2026/27 season.

Sam’s debut season of SECA cricket saw him recognized as the Woolnough Shield player of the season. He is one of the premier fast bowlers in the competition and also had his best season with the bat at senior level with some crucial knocks. More importantly the season saw on field success with the first XI going from last place on the ladder to finish top 2 with a double chance. A finals win in the first week saw qualification for a grand final where the team fell just short of the ultimate prize.“It is an exciting time to be at Mackie” says Sam. “I am really proud of what we have achieved this season and looking forward to what is ahead. A premiership for the 3rd XI along with an amazing women’s program and lots of junior success has us heading in the right direction. I love the culture at Mackie; it’s a special place to play cricket.”
In the coming weeks we will have further announcements around on and off field appointments, having the coach re-signed is our first step! We look forward to celebrating the season that was at our upcoming presentation night on Saturday 3rd of May. Details and tickets available via our website and social media channels.
